FLORIDA:

A MARKET IN THE MEND

At least 9 new property and casualty insurers have entered the Florida market recently.

Mark Friedlander, a spokesperson for the Insurance Information Institute, encourages homeowners to explore their options.

December Article Round-Up

We’ve rounded up several articles from around the web that are particularly helpful this time of year. Enjoy!

MARK YOUR CALENDAR

In addition to all the major holidays in December, here are a few more dates to note:

Tuesday, December 3, is Giving Tuesday. If you missed the day, you can still make a meaningful donation that will impact others this December. Learn more at Giving Tuesday.

Friday, December 6, is St. Nicholas Day. St. Nicholas was a 4th-century bishop known for his generosity who inspired the modern-day Santa Claus. Honor his legacy this month by surprising someone with a small, thoughtful gift or treat.

Friday, December 13, is National Cocoa Day. Cocoa has been enjoyed for thousands of years, originally by the ancient Mayans. Celebrate by making a cup of hot chocolate and adding marshmallows, whipped cream, or a peppermint stick for extra warmth.

According to the USPS, Wednesday, December 18, is the last day to mail packages (ground service or first class) for delivery before Christmas. If you’re shipping gifts, double-check addresses and consider expedited shipping if you get behind schedule.

Saturday, December 21, is the winter solstice, the shortest day and longest night of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. After today, it’s a slow stroll toward spring!

Monday, December 30, is National Bacon Day. Try a fun twist on this classic by enjoying bacon-wrapped dates for a sweet and salty treat!
