5 Ways to Make the Most of Your Insurance in 2023 |
While insurance won't make any "Top 10 list" for resolutions, January is a great time to consider your insurance coverage for the year ahead. The truth is you purchase insurance with your hard-earned dollars, and you deserve to get the most from your coverage. With that in mind, here are five things to consider as you assess your needs for the year ahead: Reviewing your Auto insurance.Changes like working from home, sending a child away to college, or retiring may merit a slight change to your policy. Also, if you own older vehicle(s), revisit whether collision and comprehensive coverage is still needed. Create or update your home inventory.A home inventory is critical if you experience loss or damage. While a homeowners policy will cover your belongings, your insurance carrier will want a detailed inventory when you file a claim.
Update your homeowner's policy after renovations. If you finished a basement or renovated a primary bathroom in 2022 (or plan to in 2023), let your agent know once the project is complete. Renovations boost the value of your home, and you want your policy's replacement cost to reflect any improvements. Consider Life insurance. The sole purpose of life insurance is to care for your loved ones after you're gone. If you haven't already, start securing a life insurance policy. Personalize your portfolio.Home, Auto, and Life are the big three. But you and your family are one of a kind and may need travel, pet, or umbrella policies. If you're growing your family by four furry feet or traveling the world this year, reach out. It would be best if you didn't have gaps in your coverage. Let us know if you have questions or would like to discuss any changes or insurance in general. We are here to help!

TB Media Group’s team doesn’t just “do” their clients' social media or “create” their videos. They partner with them to do good in the world by sharing their impactful stories. When it comes to protecting her business Tamika says, “As a small business owner, I know how hard we work to grow and build our businesses. I’d be naive to say that one accident or loss couldn’t tear down all of the hard work we’ve put in and the impact we’ve created. It certainly could, and that’s why I insure my business with UIG, Cynthia, and her experienced team. I need that peace of mind to continue to grow and protect my business.”

IN FOCUS: Commercial Policy |
Commercial Package Policy - What is it? A commercial package policy is exactly what it sounds like—a package of commercial policies. A commercial package policy combines two or more coverages like commercial property and commercial general liability, business crime, equipment breakdown, inland marine, and commercial auto liability. Coverage availability on a CPP depends on the company and the program specifications. There are some coverages that a commercial package policy cannot include like workers compensation which is required by most state laws and must be purchased separately.
Having an insurance policy doesn’t mean you will be protected from harm, but it can help you keep your business open should your business experience a claim.
Like most insurance policies, the coverages contained in a commercial package policy cannot cover for all types of loss. Insurance policies will tell you what coverages are included and what isn’t through the exclusions. It is important to carefully review your policy. Contact us to review your insurance needs and policies to ensure you have the necessary coverages for your business.
